Cultured Wanderer

I see murals all over the walls of my city.
The lady of Guadalupe and Tupac Shakur in the same area code,
People knowin their heritage.
I went to see a movie the other night.
Learned of the history of the LowRiders.
Been trying to hone this craft,
but barely know the history of poet writers,
The graffiti rhymer,
The fighter that hits with words harder.
Saw a history wrapped around on a car.
Saw the message of knowin your heritage so sure, it can't be shook.
Saw mine be as empty as an excavated pyramid.
Ain't no eyes seen what's in there,
Ain't no triangle hiding the blind eye in this spot!
Just a big hole and some days,
it feels like ain't nothin goin fill it.
I been chasin the culturally hot while growin up,
the morally evolving shot,
Feelin on occasion like a cultural thot.
Oh, the perks of being a Third Culture Kid.
Welcome home.
